which type of snake is right for me?

fenris May 14, 2003 12:42 PM

ok i want a snake that likes being held and will not be all finnicky about food i once had a ball python that would only eat white mice. that was annoying. something that likes to eat different types of food. and has a good appitite. and won't #### on me. something that gets big (around 6-8 feet) and has some type of personality. what type of snake do you recommend??

LIKES being held?
Good Luck!
However, check into a cb spilotes pullatus or some kind of cribo.
They are similar to ratsnakes, but get up to 10 feet. 8 feet is common.
You must pick a calm one that you raise from a youngster, though. They eat birds and rodents, but may, someday, crap on you.Hard to train a snake not to, though, but most don't do it often.
LOTS of personality.

I don't think any snake likes being held, but carpet pythons fit most of your criteria. They can be hard to switch over to rats, though. Give em a look.
