I was wondering if someone could help me out with my g/f cham. lighting, she knows she needs a UVB but she not sure of the strength or what kind she needs, if someone could help me out i would appreciate it.

Go for a ZooMed 5.0 or an exo-terra reptiglo 8.0. You can also use a mercury vapour bulb known as "Powersun UVB" by ZooMed (a but pricey, but last long and have heat and UVB in the same bulb.).

DO YOUR RESEARCH on those murcury vapour bulbs, they get tricky.
Ive never used them, so can't say much about them.

wait for more opinions on those bulbs on this post, if someone lease something else.

I just bought two of the newer Zoo Med 10.0 compact fluorescent bulbs and have only used them for 3 days, but have noticed a big difference in color and activity in the 2 panthers that are the "test" subjects. I will be switching all my lighting over to the 10.0's later. I think they work great.

You have to remember that the 5.0 or 8.0 or 10.0 stands for "percent" of UVB. Get the one that has the highest percentage UVB. You can't overdue it unless they come out with a 100.0 UVB, until then though get the highest as even 10.0 is nowhere near the strength of full sunlight.

Where can you get a compact 10.0 online? How much do they usually run for?

Either one of these places, though I got mine from reptile direct for $22 each. I think reptile supply is $24 each.
