Bull snake in a Boaphile cage w/heat-too hot?

dmac Jul 24, 2004 12:11 PM

I'm going to buy a bull snake hopefully at the upcoming Daytona show, and I'd like to house it in my Boaphile 321. It has low wattage flexwatt built in the floor on one side and the ambient air temps are around 80 degrees inside the cage at my house. Would that heat harm the bull snake? If so, would a logical approach be to plug it in only after a feed for 3 or 4 days to aid in digestion, and leave it unplugged the rest of the time, except for really cold times in the winter? I live in Florida and my house is usually around 75 degrees.

i'd personally go w/ the latter idea. pits need for 'heat' is overstated imho......

I agree Dan! Pits do not need as much heat as say kings or milks.
