About 2 or 3 but only put one male in the tank or else the males will fight.
ok so if i put 1 male nd 2 or 3 females do i got a really good chance of findin eggs??? and is it easy to breed i dont really wanna but it would be neat to raise babys so...
you will have a better chance of finding an egg if you have 2 females and 1 male
oh yeah and it is a little hard to breed because it is hard to find pinhead crickets these days so i say it is hard to breed . so i say only breed if u have the materials.
Remember,if you breed them, you need a whole new tank for the babies. It is a pain in the neck. They are easy to get eggs from, but the eggs are hard to hatch if you are not prepared. Anoles don't like to be held and they poop everywhere. They are really cute and I love all four of mine. I would suggest all females. Oh yeah, once they breed, the male can stress out the females with his attempts to breed more. They only have to bree once and they will lay one or two eggs every other week. That is a lot of eggs after a while.

My opinion differs from the previous ones you got. I don't think more than one anole (green) should be kept in a 20 gallon - especially a 20 gallon long. If you want 3 anoles, get a 30 gal tall.
The recommended minimum size tank is 20 gallons for one anole, then another 10 gallons for each anole after that. They need space to move.
Here's an old (and somewhat blurry) picture of my female anole's tank - it's a 29 gallon tall.

I wont comment on how many you should keep but want to warn you about breeding anoles. Anole babies are VERY tiny and require the tiniest of crickets. They also would require their own tank if you only have a 20 long then this will not cut it for 1 male 2 females and 4+ babies. (In fact this would just be crule.) Anoles themselves are hard to keep and are not recomended for the casual herper. The link below is a good explination of how much trouble it would be for you to keep baby anoles. Read the entire site and if you are not able to provide the basics for you adult anoles I would recommend against breeding. Stick with females.
