help with pacific treefrogs!!!!!!!

ok theres some near my pond but they cant burrow in its a preformed pond and theres weedguard around the edges. will these little guys hibernate underwater or do i need to take out some of the weedguard and put some really deep loose soil? thanks

Im pretty sure pacific treefrogs don't hibernate underwater, i think they hide behind the loose bark of trees, being treefrogs after all.

pacific treefrogs here are never in trees. the only place i have ever found them is under rocks and under bushes. so i dont believe that. i have never seen a pacific treefrog in a tree

I'm from Oregon, They hibernate under ground. What they'll probaby do is go down a crack of the pre-formed pond and stay below it for the majority of the winter.

Ira's right, they'll be fine. They may also move away for a while. I do mark-recapture studies of pacific treefrogs, and some of my frogs have moved over 700 meters between ponds (at least) between metamorphosis to reproductive maturity. I've also found frogs that move around 200 meters from the pond, and then come back to breed the next year.
