Anyone have a picture of such an animal? Does this make for an attractive snake? How is one produced?

Anyone have a picture of such an animal? Does this make for an attractive snake? How is one produced?
Not all extreme lavender brooksi are that nice. This is what one should look like. They are produced by taking the Tim Ricks lavender and selectively breeding for high red.
This is result of the extreme lavender bred into the Dream King line.
The Dream kings form an intense sulfer yellow brooksi color. The Dream kings were are a result of one sulfer yellow brooksi (similar to Brandon Osbornes sulfer yellow) that was found in the early 90's. I expect these to hatch around august 14th.
I also bred this line into my T- albino florida kings. I can't wait to find out if the amel gene is allelic or not. They are due to hatch end of august.
Yesterday in Slidell Reptile Show I purchased a gorgeous extreme red lavender female hatchling from a breeder whose stock is from Tim Ricks. I am encouraged to read your reply and thanks for the good information. The little hatchling is in shed but is still bright for orange on head in bars across her back and, of course, on her sides. One of the hatchlings that I produced (first time) this year are also carrying the extreme red coloration gene. One of the males has a lot of orange on his side but none on his head or bars. However, the breeder that I purchased my hugh male from used him as his foundation animal and also told me that he is carrying a lot of red in him. I sure would like to produce some animals that look like your picture. I'll post a picture of my little girl after she sheds and, hopefully, you will see and comment on her. Thanks.
Do you remeber who you bought it from and how much you paid?
Was there any other good brooksi at the show??
How much were the whitesideds going for?
Brad McDonald. He acquired his breeding stock from Tim Ricks, who was across the isle from him at the show. His asking price fot the extreme red lavender Brooksi was $200. I saw several Brooksi that were intriquing to me. The white-side hatchlings were $500 and I saw a striped Brooksi, also $500, produced by Terry Walter from Texas. One of the White-Side's produced by Swampland Reptiles came home with me along with a female Axanthic het for White-Side. I've got some really fun projects in mind and I am so pleased to have my new hatchlings. The show in Slidell was great. Even though it was too warm (hot) in the building the crowds were enthusiastic in their interest and spending their hard-earned money. I know I had a another good experence there.
Not really attractive IMO. What do those look like as adults?
Here is a picture of mine as a yearling. Awesome colors and great eaters. You won't be sorry buying from Brad, he's a very good guy. I've seen his adults and they look great.
I got my snake from Steve Osborn who I believe is in business with Tim Ricks so it's probably all the same line. I bought mine in 2001 for $300 at Daytona.
Enjoy,
Russ
here she is again but a year or so older. She bred for the first time this year and laid all duds. Very disturbing
Russ, as a yearling your female is so much brighter. The second picture doesn't show her color too well. Did she fade as she aged? I was under the impression that these snakes would intensify in color for two to three years. What a bummer about the "dud" eggs. I hope that was just a fluke and next year will be better for her. This afternoon I really looked closely at my new red lavender girl and was taken aback to see that her saddles were quite red between the orange bars. Almost as though someone had painted her. Can't wait until she sheds and I can photograph her.
The line has been improved. This year ('04) the reddest ones are $300 and they will be orange as adults. This is why breeders list them as $100-$300. You get what you pay for. I will take some pic's of my adults and post them in a day or two.
The breeder told me that he had graded his hatchlings and had some at the show for less money because he expected less color. He called the little female that I purchased a Grade A and was the highest red that he offered. She fed readily last night and as soon as she sheds I'll post her pic.
I would like to see the whitesided and het as well since you will be taking pics anyway. How much did you get them from Swampland for? BTW, I understand if you don't want to post it here.Is the WS a male and the het a female??
I was set up at Sliddel show about four yrs ago when they had their frist show. I did not do well since I sell mostly high end stuff. I did sell some low end colubrids and it seemed that the people coming through were not very snake savy. More of the pet shop crowd. The last two years I have heard the exact opposite and now I kick myself for not setting up again this yr. Seems to be a much better show than it was at its inception.
