Jay,

There are pastels from all the lines that will fade and brown out and there are some from all lines that will get better as they age. Graziani, Bell, Nerd, VPI, and all the rest have some great looking animals produced each year from their bloodlines. Here are some pics of a NERD line male we sold early this year. The Buyer thought it was a NERD Lemon line which goes to show that even the normal line can produce LEMON bright animals.

That snake looks very familiar I'm assuming I bought it from the person you sold it to. This Nerd male has browned out but I love his blushing!
I also have some Bell line females. These girls have some great color to them and aren't browning out for their size. I'll post pics of one of them next.

Rob,

I am sorry to hear he has browned out a little bit. I still love that Blushing on him. He has/had some of the best blushing I had seen on a regular pastel. I am sure he will produce some awesome pastels for you.

This is the future mate of the above NERD male. This female is Bell line and is real nice in my opinion. She and her sister were purchased from Debra from Camlon. The two females have almost identical colors.

Sorry 'bout that...

ASFReptiles Jul 26, 2004 01:45 AM

What you failed to tell the people is that is was me, Andre @ ASFReptiles that purchased this pastel male from you. Although I may have assumed that it was a NERD Lemon prior to seeing it is person, there is no doubt that it is NOT a Lemon if you know what the characteristics of one are. I have since sold it to Rob D. as stated above because he loved the blushing.
I do agree with many that a very ugly below average Pastel can produce nice ones. But what I have seen this year so far is that there are a few crooks out there selling normals as Pastels. And many others are producing below average Pastels. Why is this? Maybe its the females they are using for there breeding stock are LTC or very ugly/underfed females. I now understand why most are selling these animals for less than the market price of $1000 for males and $2000 for females. You get what you pay for!
Jay, here is a link to many of the 2003 Pastels that we produced ourselves. Some others were purchased and kept or resold. Enjoy! Adult pictures included.

Andre,

What do you mean easy there? Yes it was you that purchased it and you said in person when we met in Miami (not prior to seeing it in person) that it looked alot like a Lemon. You even stated at that time that it was better looking then some of the Lemons you had just purchased from other sellers. I told you that it was not from a lemon bloodline though, and it was never described nor sold as a Lemon but rather a Pastel from NERD. It was one of my favorites because of the Blushing as well. You purchased it at Fair Market Value for a pastel.

I also agree that there are a few people out there selling normals as pastels (as a matter of fact there is one in the classifieds right now).

Rob RK - Lemon Pastels have no orange that turns brown in them. They are all yellow and some of their yellow darkens with age if you can imagine adding a drop of black paint to yellow paint. Most have a 3-5" stripe starting at there head but some are broken.
I seriously doubt that I could have seen this Pastel in person and mistake it for a Lemon Pastel. Like I said earlier, I could have thought I was getting a NERD Lemon and not just a NERD line Pastel. Either way, the customer was and is very happy with his purchase of him. Thanks!

I saw the Ad of that normal selling as a "Pastel" $500 for an adult. Idiot!

rkreptiles Jul 26, 2004 01:50 PM

Andre,

I don't know what could have been a misunderstanding, or how you might have thought you were getting a Lemon Pastel when the ad was listed as a NERD pastel male, was sold to you for $1000 and not a Lemon price which is much higher. I know what Lemon's sell for and surely would not sell a Lemon for $1000. The word Lemon never came up until I met you in Miami and you saw him when I pulled him out of the container in person and you said he looks like a Lemon because he is so bright, and looks better than some of the Lemons you had just purchased. I am very glad that your buyer is happy with him as he is a gorgeous snake.
