I'm BACK! with a problem(

BlueIguana2003 Jun 22, 2003 03:16 PM

Hello! I'm back..but obviously have a problem. On Ozzy's right back leg is what looks like a bruise and is a little swollen. But I looked in Iguanas for Dummies but it's not crusty or scabby. His leg just has a bruised color. Ozzy has had Dry Gangreen(sp?) in his past but..It's not a lot alike to D.G.
I'm confused please help. I'm planning on taking him the the vet. But I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into here.

Has there been an injury? This sounds like an abcess, but your vet should look at it. Abcesses are fairly common in iguanas.

Thank you for replying back. It sounds like you are right. I looked it up in the iguana bible Iguanas for ME. Well, it..reading page 44 makes things look grim Poor baby. It has had a loss of appetite. My vet doesn't do feces test. I'll probaly have to go 300 miles just to get to a reptile vet that does do fecal exams. This is truly depressing. But how did it get stressed out is another question, there is nothing around it that COULD stress it out. No animals are around it. Could this be a sign of MBD? And my Ozzy isn't caged with another animal.

SO CONFUSED

I'd still like other opinions and thanks ahead.

Sincerely the Loving Iguana Slave
And it's owner, Ozzy

Maybe we can help find a closer vet.

North west Iowa. Sac County. And Des Moines is out of the picture, I have only been there once in my life. Omaha might work but are there any Reptile Vets?
