I found a 3 week old Baird's ratsnake today! I got her at the show in Indy for only $25. The breeder said she belonged to a buddy so he brought them(one other) along just to see if he could move them. He had sold the parents to his friend 3 years ago and said it was the worst mistake he could have made. Anyway, she was showing the pink she ate yesterday so hopefully she will eat for me to! Thanks to Jimmy and Paul for turning me onto these amazing snakes. I can't wait to see the color change she is going to go through.

You will enjoy your new bairdi.
Don't be surprised at its attitude in the beginning.
Although I am only limited to my two in experience it seems that most people have the same observations.
They can be a bit nippy and have a tendency to musk a lot as hatchlings.
Don't worry though.
Just keep handling it and it will calm down and become a favorite.

So far she has been really good. She didn't freakout at the show or when I got her home. We will see what happens when she gets settled in. I guess I'll know next weekend when I try to handle her for the first time.

Jimmy got me addicted.There like Lay's chips,you cant have just one.Ive have feelers out all over for a couple females.Then Im debating some Trans Peco rats as well.I have the fever all over again.Im sure you will be hooked.Enjoy your new bairdi...Paul

Sparda do you even own a ugly reptile?I love your bairdi.Those pics in the rat forum blew my mind.You,Jimmy,and Jason are gonna get me in trouble.My wish list is actually affordable.Ive been eyeing up those trans pecos also.And you might as well throw in some licorice sticks,yellows,russian,etc.God Im hooked...Paul.

Lets see... Leopard ratsnakes, black pines, ATB, (thanks to a good friend) trans peco rats, white sided everglades.....the list just keeps growing. I definatley have to get more cage space built. LOL

Just picked one up at the All Ohio Reptile Show on Saturday. A June '04 baby. Also $25!! I had been "trying" to resist, but finally had to give in. Can't wait to watch him change.
