Saying goodbye to an old friend.....(off topic)

Mike H. Jul 25, 2004 07:21 PM

I just finished burying Cocoa, my Springer/Weimeraner mix. I got her as a pup back around '90 or '91, she lived a great life, grew up with my two animal loving kids (who are now 17 & 18) and our Collies & Husky....she was never bored to say the least.

RIP Cocoa, you'll be missed

Mike,
I'm sorry for the loss of your pet. It is always hard to deal with the loss of a family member and the family dog counts as a member of that family. I'm glad to hear that he lead a could and happy life, we should all hope for the same.
Best wishes

Sorry for your loss. He appears to have had a long and happy life, his smile in the picture proves that.

Many people don't recognize that pets are part of the family- they are an interspecies adoption.

If anything can help you in your mourning, think about this:
We all come into this existence to learn, Animals don't stay as long as humans, because they learn faster than we do.

Hang in there.

You have my heartfelt condolenses. My mom had a fire this weekend (she made it out fine) but lost all of her animals (21 cats & 2 small dogs). The only animal survivor in the house was my burmese python - the best guess on that is due to their slower respiratory pattern compared to mammals & how well the cage was made plus she was on the far end of the house from the fire. Whether it's snakes or furred critters, I dare say for most of us they're like our kids.

R.I.P. to all our furry loved ones.
