Hubby came home with meecies today, along with a new friend for Nessy!!! He is an older hatchling, looks exactly like a Reverse Okeetee (I've seen them called that or red albinos or amelanistic, not sure which one is right). He's a tiny little fella too!!!! At about 10 inches and the diameter of less than a pencil he's a spitfire!!!! Great appetite and extremely active!! We decided to bunk him with Nessy since she's so mellow and won't make him a snack! We know for a fact that our blizzard would snatch him up immediately!!! We may have hatchlings some day!! Who knows!

Just wanted to share the news on the new addition!

You just touched the tip of the iceberg LOL. I made a count yesterday in the snake room, I had 118 snakes out there yesterday and there are 5 more then that today LOL.
Just a thought seeing that you are still starting out ( I would use the rubbermaid type Shoe Boxes to keep your hatchling in for a quaritine period (90 days on Colubrids, 180 days on Boids) incase they have any illness that could spread to your other snakes.
and 1 more thing just so you know, Red Albino and Amel are the same thing, it is a total lack of black pigment. Now the Reverse Okatee is also an Amel, but a locality type (meaning that it has a certian look, similar to a morph) but that certian look was breed to the Amel genetic mutation. Does that make any sense LOL.
Either it sounds like you are off to a nice start with your collection

Sounds exciting! But shouldn't you quaranteen the new comer? And it's also not a good idea to house them together. Could be asking for trouble...just my 2 cents.
