eye infections?

po Jul 25, 2004 08:55 PM

just curious...i have one leo that is blind because he has had reocuring eye infections from the day i got him and he is separate from everyone else, but i have had a few others get them too, not all the time and not as bad as the one boy, but seems that leos eyes have more problems then any of my other herps, anyone else had eye problems?

oh, and i work for a vet and am in school to be a reg. vet tech and am a cleaning freak, and have been dealing with herps for over 9 years, so the whole "take him to a vet" is not nessasary (hope that isnt snotty sounding but that gets thrown out here a lot)

thanks!

I know that A LOT of people have had problems with leos eyes. I'm not sure if it's from eye infections, but I have heard of a lot of blindness and eyelid deformities (usually from inbreeding or temp fluctuations). I'm not too familiar with eye infections in leos.

And for the "take it to the vet" comments... most of the time that is what is necessary. I think a lot of the people that the comment is directed to have NEVER taken a leo to the vet, and a check up and a fecal would help them out tremendously.
