very nice. I just wanna know why everybody else`s 03s are like 3 times the size of mine

mdc Jul 26, 2004 10:39 AM

Most of my '03s are only around 30" or so. Here is my albino het stripe male. He eats once a week and is right at 30". As for size, it all depends on how much you feed them and what temps you keep them at. Also, genetics play a role in it.

MOST OF MY 03 ARE THAT SIZE(4FT)OR ABOUT BUT NOT ALL OF THEM. THEY ALL HAVE EATEN ONCE A WEEK ON ONE RAT UNLESS ONE WON'T EAT DO TO SHED AND THEN ONE MIGHT GET 2. MY TEMPS ARE PRETTY WARM BUT NOT TO HOT AND WITH GOOD HUMIDITY.

I'm not saying you are doing anything wrong. A lot of it is just genetics. She is beautiful, by the way. I too have had yearlings at 4 ft. or so, and I've also had others that don't grow much at all in their first year.

I think you live pretty close to me. I am in Concord, CA. Maybe these two can meet in a couple years.

Take care,

HI MATT,
I THINK WHEN I USE ALL CAPS(WHICH IS ALWAYS LOL) PEOPLE THINK I'M MAD OR YELLING. I'M NOT THATS JUST HOW I TYPE. ANYWAYS I WAS MOSTLEY AGREEING WITH YOU ON YOUR POST. IT DOES HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH HOW MUCH THIER GIVEN AND THE TEMPS BUT LIKE YOU SAID THE GENETICS HAVE THE MOST TO DO WITH IT. I DO LIVE CLOSE. I'M IN MOUNTAIN VIEW. WE SHOULD HOOK UP SOMETIME AND GO OVER WHAT WE HAVE. SEEING THAT WE LIVE ABOUT 45 MINUTES AWAY FROM EACHOTHER.HERES MY NUMBER. GIVE ME A CALL WHENEVER.
