Want to get a Corn Snake.

BlueIguana2003 Jun 22, 2003 03:56 PM

Hello. I know how ANNOYING it is for people to ask cage requirements, food, length, ect. But all I would like to know is how to get one. No place around me has them in shelters. I would love to buy one. Baby, full grown, I don't care. Snakes seem to be fond of me. If any of you are thinking of selling one give me a ring please. I a have cage ready and everything. Here is my list of animals, 1 iguana, 2 anoles, 1 snapper, 1 leo, 4 breeding dogs, 16 cats and pigeons, a rabbit. I bet you can tell I live on a farm!

It is much better to ask then to do it wrong.
Now, having said that....At the top of the corn snake forum you will see links to a few sites including South Mountain and Corn-Utopia. You can't go wrong with either of them.
I have personaly delt with South Mountain and recommend Don HIGHLY.

I would say the best way to get a corn is through a breeder, that way you know what your getting an getting a healthy one,it is worth a few extra bucks for shipping. One of the nicest guys is Don from South Mountain, his link is at the top of the page.

I always suggest that you check the EVENTS on the Kingsnake main page to see if any reptile shows come to your general area. Or...let folks here know what city you live near, and they might make suggestions. Reptile shows are a great place to find a combination of selection and value. Better than pet stores, and since you don't pay shipping, those dollars can go into the animal itself. I consider myself lucky to live near a city that hosts one every month. That's where I get all my frozen rodents, also...MUCH cheaper than trying to buy them at pet shops.
Good luck. Duffy
