can anybody lend some advice or testimonials on other filters besides fluval 304/404 and magnum's?

i'm looking for a new filter, and just wondering if there are any other filters besides these that work well, are inexpensive and easy to maintain.

i got the 304. it works great....i recently broke one of the little handle things....but fluval will send me a replacement part for free. im thinking about just buying the 404 from big als online (its only 90 bucks or something) and having both hooked up to the tank. but i dont know yet.
