Is Zoomed eco earth mixed w/ soil a good substrate?

drykilllogic83 Jul 26, 2004 01:35 PM

I am the guy that live in southern california and can't obtain cypress mulch or orchard bark. Agama international care sheet said I can use eco earth but I don't want to spend tons of money on eco earth to fill up the cage. So, I am wondering if I can use part nonfertilized soil and part eco earth?

I guess as long as the soil isnt fertilized like you said then it shouldnt be a problem. Do you mean potting soil? If so, just check to make sure there isnt a lot of extra stuff added. Another thing, soil is pretty messy... tegus like to dig in it and make messes with it.

Well I couldn't find any top soil with no fertilizer in it. So I am just going to buy a whole bunch of eco earth. How much do you think I will need for a 5 inches deep of substrate in a 6Lx3W cage? I guess one brick of eco earth equals out to 8 liters.
