Feeding Fish

Drako257 Jul 26, 2004 04:29 PM

Hey all -

Just curious.....do any of you feed fish to your WD? I have a 3 year old male, and I offered him a fish for the first time the other day. He went after it quite quickly, but spit it out after he chewed on it for about 5 seconds. I assumed he would eat it whole? Perhaps he just flat out didn't like it? =) Any comments?

Thanks!

my dragon eats fish, though he doesnt fish for them (even though he'll swim under water to pick at bugs beneath his bowl...), and from what i hear, wds wont fish.
what sort of fish did you give him, was it healthy? there are probably some fish that taste bad for whatever reasons.

my dragon definatly eats them though, ive only seen him spit a fish once, and that was when he had got some plant matter with the fish. i feed him feeder fish which are either goldfish or guppies.

I used to have a Green Water Dragon and he loved goldfish, as long as they weren't too big for him. Sometimes it helps if you don't feed them for a while then the first thing you feed them is goldfish they'll usually go for it, it's kind of like training your WD to eat fish.
