can a ball choke on a mouse?

I know this may sound a little dumb but I have someone telling me his ball python died trying to eat a small mouse. I have had pythons for 15 years now and have never had one do this. If the food was to big they wouldn't eat it or they would regurgitate.

But this one died with a mouse hanging out of his mouth.

Have any of you had something like this happen?
