Selling regulated reptiles in Ohio

paver1960 Jul 26, 2004 05:27 PM

Hi All, anyone from Ohio knows that native species and wood turtles are regulated. To keep these, you need a non-commercial permit. To sell these, you need a commercial license.

I have a non-comm license for my wood turtles. I now plan to sell them and thus, need to apply for a commercial license. Anyone else done this? Is it a hassle? I am getting out of working with Ohio's regulated reptiles due to Big Brother.

My animals are legal but by notifying the State, I really don't want some pre-sale inspection by an officer that can't spell Clemmys.

Thanks

Mark Allen

I just requested an "upgrade" so I could sell cbb American Toads. I had to re-apply and pay $40 with no credit from my non-commercial license. If you want to be put on an e-mail list to be notified of any Ohio legal news stuff (your info will not be distributed or sold), let me know. My friends Fred and Elayne Bruckman has been compiling such a list.
