Indirect lighting and D3

JohnNLV Jul 27, 2004 12:32 AM

I am trying to figure out if the indirect light from a window thats next to my Tegu environment is UVB enough. I use the "Miner-All 1" however if the animal is getting natural UVB I need to use "Miner-All 0"

it is my understanding that most of the UVB is filtered out as it goes through the glass plane of the window, I would still use D3 in that case.

Yes, MOST if not ALL of the UVB is filtered out not only by glass but by plexiglass and plastics as well. My tegu cage is by the window but the sun comes in through the top where it's wire screening. I also have a UVB bulb as well and dust food with calcium and vitamins.

I thought as much, just wasn't sure. I do have a strong UVB bulb also just incase. I will stick with the Miner-All 1
