Second born died 1 day after hatching

Johng1804 Jul 27, 2004 06:01 AM

I just hatched my first two eggs one on the 24th and the other on the 25th. When i woke up today i found the younger one dead. After he hatched he had a red/brown scab like thing on his belly and his head was shaped kinda weird. Anyone know what that was on his belly? It was like a sore spot/scab with red around it.

I've been keeping them in a small tank with a moist paper towel, a lid of vitamins, a very shallow lid of water, and a place to hide. I added very tiny crickets on the 25th.

the one thats about 12 hours older seems to be doing fine, i think he ate because he looks a bit fatter.

Hatchlings shouldn't be fed until after their 1st shed. Hopefully your other hatchling will continue to well.

yeah, don't they feed of a yoke sack or something?? i heard those could be scraped off on paper towels so put the crickets in with them. i guess it was just a birth defect.
