I'm not sure that a petition is the best way to go in such a case.
I signed it, but jusdging from my experiance a petition os only good for one thing and that is to gather peoples attention.
Thants beneficial but in order to try to turn the situaton around it is perhaps better to organise the organisations.

The herpetological organisations as well as the National amphibian and reptile owners alliance (NAROA) and perhaps the larger organisations in the pet trade industry should have the best chances of influencing the descisionmakers.

In Europe Several of the large herpetological organisations formed a new organisation called EUFORA which works thise types of problems.

Use Norway as a bad example. We have a herp ban here and all it does is to criminalize herpetoculturists and leading to the death of animals confiscated by the police. In addition people who keep herps here are often afraid to see a vet in fear of loosing their animals to the government.

That there are only under 250 sigs ? Not to be the pesimist and or take the cynical route, it doesn't surprise me. This has and probably will be an on-going situation of us un-divided and un-bonded reptile group/hobby as statistics has always showed. Hell, the group for the Wolf hybrids are more connected and together than we are ! If you all want, let's hear why or if you all even think that what I'm saying is true.
