not to put a hinder on ya but i lived just outside of philly for years befor moving out to lancaster area, i do not think you are allowed to own hot's in philly, don't get me wrong there are lots of ppl in philly with them, so be careful i would do a little bit more researce before you purchase a hot, call the code enforcement office they will tell you
check out coastalreptiles.com he has a thing from state to state and phila is one of the states where you dont need a permit...i know some one in this city has a black mamba. im just hopeing to get with some one so i can watch them and have them teach me a few things....
Local ordinances may prevent you from keeping within the city limits. Just because there is nothing at the state level to prevent you from keeping hots doesn't mean that there isn't a county or local ordinance that prohibits it.
You also say you want to work with cobras? Why not start slow and work your way up? It sure beats ending up dead.
i think i might. ive just (within the last month) started looking into keeping hot. so im still doing research. i like cobras alot but i think i might start with maybe an eyelash viper or a rattlesnake. i hear they are both goo snakes to start with...
thats correct no lg constrictors or venomous species are legal to keep within the city of Philadelphia.

I also live in Lancaster county, and many areas it is legal to own venomous reptiles, but in Lancaster city it is illegal. Same thing goes for Philadelphia.
