dbrasher Jul 27, 2004 07:49 PM

I thought Id post this wildcaught Alabama Burgandy Gray Ratsnake to see what you guys think. In 25 years I have never saw a gray rat in Al. of this color . Loads of red and oranges in this guy . Cant decide whether to keep him and breed for color of let him go .

I don't know where you are located in AL but I found some around Montgomery that had similar coloring. I posted a picture of one a while back that had so much orange that you would swearit had Texas Rat influence. After that I found 3 more that had similar coloring - just not as pronounced. Then just before I left, I found a pure Gray inside my grill. Great surprise and I took him with me to AZ. As a matter of fact, the big goon musked me good a few minutes ago .

I live in North Alabama, and I have seen them like this before, even with a nice yellowish ground color. Maybe you'll find another one like that and can do something with the color. Of course that takes time.
