Wild Caught Boa Constrictors From Puerto Rico are back.....more

Hoppy Jul 27, 2004 08:30 PM

The wild caught Boas from Puerto Rico are back for sale again. These are amazingly rare (seeing that there is no Boa Constrictor ssp known to ever inhabit Puerto Rico) which is why (I can only guess) the price for three wild caught BIC boas is at $1000.00 as a opposed to the $300.00 that they would get if they were from, say.... maybe Central America. However, I would want to see the CITIES paper work on these 3 boas seeing that the removal of any Wildlife from Puerto Rico is a violation of the treaty as all of Puerto Rico's wild life is considered endangered, But that is just me. Of course if the Boas were from, say..... oh CENTRAL AMERICA, then it may not be as big as a problem as many hundreds of boas are shipped in each year from that region from Boa farms at much less the cost. But as these boas are $1000.00 they must be that rare and elusive Puerto Rican Boa Constrictor ssp, Right?
Oh and if anyone one is interested, I know a guy who can get boas that are wild caught from Canada! You thought the Argentine Boas were dark, boy you have not seen anything until you have laid your eyes on a Canadian Locality Boa Constrictor!
One more thing, if you happen to be in Brooklyn at any time, stop by my bridge. I am thinking of putting it back up for sale…….

Look, Hoppy, I respect you and all, but that's no reason to make fun of other people's good fortune. I was lucky enough to get in early on the last sale, and $3000 later, I have a nice trio of Puerto Ricans that I am hoping to breed this season for the first time. These animals are smoking.

I'll be posting pictures as soon as I get my camera back from my friend who's borrowed it.

UMMMMMM hate to tell you there buddy but there are no naturally occuring bci's or bcc in puerto rico so i would say that you got taken for $3,000 which is a shame but thats why research pays off sorry for your mis fortune

Hehe...kidding, kidding, my friends. Just seeing who took the bait first. Although, I have been on the lookout for some Okeetee boas for a while now. Do let me know if you see any.
