i work at a brandnew petsmart. weve been open for almost 7 months. i take care of all the reptiles there. we just receantly got some beardies in, along with the care sheets. our care sheet sais that an average temp of 75-85F is good, and an issolated hot spot of 105-120 F should be kept. i was astoneshed. isnt that too hot? please answer this as soon as possable, so i can email the people incharge of making the care sheets and tell them that there wrong.

PS, please pardon my spelling.

I would say roughly 95-100 for an adult, and 110-115 for young beardies. So they really aren't that far off.

I'd be more concerned if they are suggesting keeping the beardies on calcium-sand, or feeding them mealworms, which I have seen Petsmarts guilty of.

High chitin and therefore high risk of impaction, especially in babies. Mealies are pretty much useless for beardies, except for the occasional treat for adults. They are low in calcium, high in phosphorus, and high in fat. Bad combo.

Besides, Petsmart carries crickets anyway. I far better choice for babies, and probably more economical.
