Lab Diet 5012 can it be used for mice as well?

justcage Jul 27, 2004 10:17 PM

I just bought a 50 pound bag of the lab diet 5012. here are the specs:

G U A R A N T E E D A N A L Y S I S
Crude protein not less than 22.0%
Crude fat not less than 4.0%
Crude fiber not more than 5.0%
Ash not more than 8.0%
Added minerals not more than 3.0%
I do not have access to the lab diet mouse formula or the purina stuff either. What should I add to their diet to make the production better for the mice? thanks.-Matt

I personally would up the protein a fat a bit with dog or cat kibble....but who knows. Are your rats eating it? So much of the lab block turns into paving stones here.....my rats won't eat it. But someone did say 5012 was good.
