How much can a pac man eat?

freakytah Jul 27, 2004 11:02 PM

I've got a smal-medium sized pac man right now and i was just wondering about how much to feed him since he seems to eat anything and everything he can. He really likes earthworms, are they good for him? What else should he eat? Thanks

Earthworms are good for him. You may want to try putting some calcium powder on the earthworms. I would use a variety of food like crickets, waxworms, feeder fish, and night crawlers. As far as how much I have a pac-man that is about 3 1/2- 4 inches and I feed him a couple of large crickets every other day. About once a month I feed him a pinky mouse and then he won't eat for about three days after. If my guy isn't hungry he won't eat.

Nightcrawlers are implicated with abnormal muscle developement in Rana catesbiana when fed as the sole food item. I would suggest not feeding them as either the sole diet or as the majoriity of the diet. Additionally they are only a good source of calcium when kept in an calcium enriched soil (not the "soil" they come in). Fish such as mollies, some of the small sunfish and mosquito fish have been shown to be a complete diet when fed to anurans as the sole diet with no incidence of "MBD" unlike the other commonly recommended food items. The fish have to be alive to prevent problems with thiamine deficency.
