I don't know any "tricks" to lure her back into her pond, but from my own experience, your turtle should live out of the water for at least a week. I say this because my mother (wanting to help of course)wanted to give my RES some "exercise" and took the poor turt of of her tank. I thought I had lost her but over a week later, I found her and she was fine. But remember, RES only eat in the water, so hopefully other posters will find some solutions. Good luck though!

Where is your turtle pond? Is it inside or outside? In the wild if a turtle feels its pond is too small, it will leave the pond and search for a bigger one. Thats one reason we find dead turtles on the road a lot.

Are you certain its a she?
Female turtles never leave unless the habbitat is unbareable; males only if they are looking for a mate.
Your turtle is not coming back for certain. But maybe you could find it.
I once lost my turtle while she was out for a "walk" with me in the living room. I had all but given up on her nearly five weeks later. But lo and behold, we found her one afternoon behind the shoe rack, healthy and all just a little crusty eyed. perky and all. five minutes in the water and she was back to normal! They are suprising little creatures.
