I had to drive into Asheville again today to pick up another live pinkie, its almost an hour away. Anyway, I made sure the temp on the tank was ok, I took Eden and the the pinkie and put them in a small box. I placed the box in the tank, I'm not going to bother her till morning. I'll let you all know how it goes. Keep all fingers and toes crossed.

Just to clarify:

how long have you had him/her?

My local breeder told me (when I bought my very first from him) to not touch the newly moved snake for WEEKS, don't bother, don't pick up, don't look at it funny. Some snakes are EASILY stressed and if he/she is barely been in your possession a few weeks, and probably handled a lot (cause we all know none of us can keep our damn hands off them like we should sometimes), I can definitely see that being a source of your problem.

Good luck, beautiful snake!

I may be wrong but in my opinion.......
You don't want to go weeks without feeding a new hatchling.
If you know the hatchling was fed within a couple of days of you getting it, you could maybe wait a week but if you don't know when it has fed or if it is like the last two hatchlings I got, who had never eaten, weeks could be too long.
sub-adults and adults can easily go a couple of weeks but I would be worried with a young hatchling.
Just my opinion for what it's worth

yeah, I guess I misunderstood the age, in the pics the snake looked bigger/older than hatchling and I couldn't remember what her posts said.

My advice was for subadult at youngest. Still I would handle the little guy as little as humanly possible and not pester the little guy for hours by sticking food in his/her face (which is what you don't seem to be doing-good!)

sorry I couldn't be more helpful, I'm sure I'll soon be begging for similar advice late next week when my hatchlings finally shed and are ready for their first meals!

good luck, sorry about the confusion

Lets hope everything goes well with your hatchlings and you don't need advise on feeding problems.

You will need the extra time to take and post photos....lol
good luck

Thanks. I did move her tank to a less busy part of the house, give her me peace and quiet.

I have learned so much on this forum, but I have one question that popped in my mind.

I hear people talking about hatchlings and subadults.....so what ages does that clarify. I mean Eden is approx 6month old, is she still a hatchling, or a sub adult.

I guess I was the one wrong in thinking you had a hatchling.
good question
I wouldn't really consider 6 months to be a hatchling but I don't really think they are considered sub-adult until they are about a year old....interesting.
Ok people....I know someone out there can clearify this..
