Circle Backs?

Ace Jun 22, 2003 07:48 PM

We just got a Leopard Gecko at a local reptile show. I was looking around at some Gecko sites and saw some charge more if they have circles on them, like ours. Is this just some dealers trying to get more for a regular Gecko or is it a ligit morph?
Here's a pic of her

Just some dealers trying to get more for a normal. The circle usually fades with age...

I agree that most of them turn out normally patterned as adults, while only retaining a hint of thier circles, but my first female would only give birth to circlebacks and the owner of one of her offspring tells me she only lays circlebacks as well. That tells me that it is genetic (at least hers is) in some way, possibly dominant. I don't know if that commands a higher price; nowadays probably not, but a few years ago it did.

I have seen adults with circlebacks, but i just figured that these were the exceptions. It is possible that they are genetic, but like you said I doubt it would command much of a higher price then normals.
