You should switch over to paper towels until they are full grown then put the sand back on.But even then there is a chance of impaction.Cute little babies!

babies shoule never be kept on loose substrate, switch to papertowels and mist the tank with water twice a day, is that a heat rock?..if so..get it out of that tank..unless you want 2 more dead baby aft's

sand isnt even wat there on in the wild..for now use papertowel, when they are 8 monnths old switch to bed a beast, it holds humidity well, fat tails need about 55% humidity

First off...all I wanted people to do was look at the ANIMALS...not my techniques. I've talked to many breeders, vets, and owners and paper towel is just an idea. Fine play sand is what that is, and many many a breeder say that it is just fine. It's the large granule Calci-sand that they say not to get. Also, veterinarians, say that play sand is fine because of it's small size. The geckos will lick the sand to try to supplement for the low calcium in their diet...so as long as I provide calcium supplements, then I won't have a problem. And that isn't a hot rock. I knew about those from the get-go. I know that people advise on this forum all the time, so instead of advising, just sit back and look at these babies...and forget about trying to tell people how to take care of their animals. I'm up to 14 lizards, 9 of them geckos, and they're not dead yet. So I guess I'm doing something right!

Obviously not..keeping BABIES on sand, adults can easily pass play sand...babies cant..14 lizards huh? so i guess your the expert here..i've kept herps for over 15 years my friend, belive me..i know what im talking about..why keep somthing that lives on clay like dirt..on sand..does that make any sense? NOOO..thats like keeping a green iguana in a desert terrarium

i was trying to help, you got defensive, now i must

what about that baby of yours that died? with the eye problem..doing a veteranarian procedure yourself is a big no no..an eye infection is not was killed the baby, it was somthing worse..infections in an eye killing a baby gecko..doesnt nmake much sense to me..then you go off trying to fix the problem yourself..tamporing with its eyes for gods sake..probably one of the most sensitive parts of the gecko anotomy, you know how easily you could've damaged that poor things eyes?
why didnt you take it to a vet? get a fecal done? or possibly even a necropsy..why dont people thinkl befor they do stuff? maybe you can answer that?..i know you did it out of the kindness of your heart..but it was definatly not the right thing to do
i cant help but think about whats going to happen to these two..
