well from ALL the reasearch ive done today. seems like it doesnt matter what the state says. pa has no laws but the citys do. and it differs greatly from city to city. if your local zoo has a reptile section try calling them. i got more answers and no run arounds calling the zoo then i did calling city hall and the fish and boat commission. im sure others will have more answers though.
doesn't require a permit for either native (with the exception of protected sp.) or exotic. As the other poster said though, individual municipalities have restrictions and/or bans on the keeping of venomous reptiles within their limits.
Texas is another state without permits, though the case is the same with municipalities.
There are no laws in West Virginia making it illegal to keep hot snakes. The same goes for gators.
......a few localities have restrictions. Most don't (yet - idiots are everywhere, so it's probably inevitable that they will eventually).

this is not all entirely true. The state my not have any laws but almost all countys do.
I though Ohio had laws governing its native species.
For very light regulations and few restrictions the animals are enjoyed, and there are still fewer bites than from florida herpers with permits! A trend possibly lol
