How do SHTCT babies look like?

gothra Jul 28, 2004 08:09 PM

Can someone please show me a pic? I have 7 geckos already and I only have one 'quota' left; I really want one that has very little or no spots on the head.

A few days ago, I discovered a small aquarium shop that is selling baby leos at very low prices, the babies are bright orange with wide black bands, the head is also black. How do I tell if a baby is going to grow up with lots of spots or reduced spots? Can someone please show me a pic?

Here's one of my babies from last year.
You can't really tell for sure if they will look like this until they are close to being adults. This one was around 6 months old in the pic and now she has even more carrottail and some more of the red fleck. Her head is still baldy but very often, baldies can get dark markings back even as adults. My theory is that it comes from stress, like breeding. Then it never seems to go away.

Very nice looking gecko, I wish I can get one like this here in Hong Kong...One more question though, did this baby have any sort of black bands when it is born? I don't understand whether the super hypo's are born with black bands that fades later on or that they don't have the dark bands from the very start?
Thanks.
