HEY EVERYBODY!!!! REDFOOT TORTOISE EGGS.. My first ever!!!!

clemmysman Jul 28, 2004 08:51 PM

You talk about excited.. my very first tortoise eggs.. from a group that could produce babies.

Even though they were found on the ground.. one was really wrinkled.. these are my first Redfoot tortoise eggs. As you might can tell they still are "wet" in the pic.. can't be more than 3 hours old. Now in a pre-heated 86 degree incubator!!!

These are not from Wobbly I don't think.. I have a good idea which one. She is only 6 years old.

Q: Why were they dropped on the ground?

Thanks.. Terry

Are you sure they weren't from wobbley???????
Is Wobbley still wobbling??????

Those eggs look like they were retained for a while.

Also what is with the yellow an blood spots. Where there any broken eggs found near by?

Not sure of anything Ed. One egg was found badly wrinkled.. opened it up and it looked fine inside.. maybe shoudln't have done that. No clue of yellow.. didn't look like any real blood concern. Maybe Wobbly did drop them.. she has her days. Have been putting Calcium on their cantaloupe and peaches last couple of times.. plan on kale today.

Thanks.. Terry

is she still wobbly?
Check the tail area for any of the same yellow stuff. In fact, check all the tortoises.
