My friend found this guy in a pond in south louisiana... it has NO pattern and i dont recal ever seeing one like it....

Looks like the plastron of a common musk turtle to me. Sternotherus odoratus, what does his head look like? Does he have little whiskers (barbels)on his chin and two stripes along the length of his head?
