F3 Black Stripes

Corey Woods Jul 28, 2004 10:33 PM

Third generation (F3) Black Stripes "Woods Line". These guys were produced from breeding my F2 Black Stripe male to an F1 Black Stripe female. I really like striped animals........and these guys are one of my favourites! This mutation has come a long way........I'm striving for an animal with a complete black stripe and no side pattern.......I'm getting there!

3.3 Black Stripes were produced. The females are on the left and the males are on the right.

out of the black stipres you've been hatching have there been any pattern favoring to male or female? it seems like the females have more severe pattern reduction & tiger pattern. has there been any thing to suggest if the genes have shown more in your females than males or is it just a big mix.....i haven't seen the other old black stripes & was curious

With the black stripes I've been very high male as far as the sex ratio goes. Since I've been very high male I've produced more nice looking males than females. This year I produced some nice looking males and females. I'll keep all the females and the nicest looking male as hold backs. Even though I've been high male I've kept back every female black stripe I've produced so eventually I'll start crossing them into other mutations.
