Does it take detailed photos of smaller reptiles, say a hatchling gecko??? How much was it? I am looking for a new digital that takes nice photos that aren't blurred by being to close to the subject. Thanks. Leland

Leland...I took this pic from about 3 inches from the snake. I'm sure this camera can do what you want it to do! It was $249 with a special deal, they threw in a 128 mb card, and it came with a 32 mb card. It's 4 mega pixels. The prices have really come down. You can get a super digital camera for under 500. The thing that really sold me on this one is it has sound and movie capabilities, and is weatherproof. AND...it's very compact. I didn't want a huge camera to lug around!! Check out the olympus website...I'm sure you could find it.

Try the Olympus C-8080. It has a Super Macro mode, and takes great pictures.
