Could a 3inch RES live with a 3-4inch freshwater crayfish ?

I tried that situtation and the crayfish didn't survive for more than an hour before my two 3 inch RES ate him.

Crawfish carry something that can be harmful to turtles also. I don't remember if it is a virus or what.
