BLUEROSY Jul 29, 2004 07:16 PM

Keith,

MAYBE I DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB EXPLAINING IT . THE F1 GEN ARE RED AND YELLOW AND THE F2 GEN ARE ALL BALCK AND WHITE. WHERE DID ALL THE REDS GO???

The F1 babies are full on red. ALL OF THEM. So I bred them together expecting MORE RED. Instead I got ALL BLACK AND WHITE BABIES

F1 GENERATION IS EITHER HIGH RED AND SOME RED AND YELLOW:

AND HERE ARE THE F2 GENERATION:

Man those F2s look so much nicer. I love how they have no red whatsoever. Keeping any of those?

BLUEROSY Jul 29, 2004 09:29 PM

I don't know if I am keeping them. I only have three 2.1 and the rest were hypos. I may let a male go for $...email me.

Not interested in buying them. Just interested in seeing them as they age and was wondering if you were going to keep them since they were so awesome looking. Thanks though.

Is it possible that red is somehow related to incubation? I know that in VA some years you find neonates with lots of red and in others with out it. Steve Hamok (SP) had a web chat one time saying dry incubation conditions effected dessert snake coloration. Perhaps something similar is at work here. Then again it could be a stupid notion and I stand by to be flamed.
