mealies are not really good for BDs. supers are better but if your BD is less than 12-14" dont do it. you can kill them by giviing them mealies or supers. they cannot digest them easily.

i already got the mealworms and he is 14 inches and that link does not work
I hope you didn't spend too much on them. Mealworms should really be avoided. Toss them in the trash and get some crickets or silkworms.

I have gone through 7000 mini mealworms on a clutch of 6 week old dragons with no problems. There may be something different about the mini mealys, they seem very soft bodied.

Yeah I don't know a whole lot about the minis. All I know is that I hear all the time of babies getting impacted on regular mealworms.

The minis that I have bought (5000 more coming today) have been 1/4 inch long and seem softer than regular mealworms. When I get them in I put them in a container with ground up wheat cereal and bearded pellets.I use a spice grinder. They stay for 2 days in this container to fatten up and then I pop them in the fridge and use when needed.

Take any mealie or super and put it in a dish & just add a little water. It doesn't even have to be completely submerged & see how long it takes to die. You find that there is no way either of them could survive long enough to eat their way through anything.

Joel is completely right about mealworms drowning really fast. Don't try the experiment though, killing living thing as an experiment should be frowned upon. The acid in the beardies stomach along with the fact that there's not any breathable air will kill anything they eat (short of some parasites) within a matter of a couple of minutes. There's no chance a mealworm can eat its way out a live bearded dragon who ate him.
