Burrowing Cobra

I've just never heard of it. If you just have the scientific name I can look up the rest.

I believe the scientific name for a burrowing cobra is Paranaja multifasciata. If i remember right, they are from Zaiare.

They are from Central Africa (Cameroon and surrounding areas). Your chances of finding one in captivity are next to zero. Shame, as they are very nice and manageable snakes. A lab of my acquaintance had one for a number of years, and it was a super little snake that got very quiet and laid back.

Wow, that looks like eerily like a kingnsnake I own. Different pattern, but same colors and head shape and scales.
Can they spread a hood?

Not really a hood. They flatten their necks somewhat when annoyed, but nothing like a Naja.
