Malaysian Blood Pythons (as long as this topic is up)

PristinePythons Jul 29, 2004 11:15 PM

WHO has them? Is anyone working with true pure bred malaysians. I've been awaiting a pair for a long time! If I find a pair they will be bought on the spot! Any help with this one? Oh BTW everyone with these giant malaysians (brick red and calm) are killing me as it's what I want so badly!

Hey,
Been waiting on them too, but no ones got them, and I don't think there will be too many around for a long time. Well, lets keep our collective fingers crossed for a pair.

Just recently picked up a pair that was originally produced (and verified) by VPI. They're gorgeous yellow Malaysians with black heads & tails, and so far I'm coo coo for cocoa puffs about them.

So, even though they're not brick red, they're locality & pretty doggone friendly.

Pics tomorrow.

I will be SO glad when this move is over, but it will probably take months to get all the critters into the new place. In the mean time I haven't had much of an opportunity to do any posting.

NARBC in CA...not this year. It's just too close to too many other big shows (i.e. Daytona, Chicago) for us to be able to swing a cross country trip. Maybe sometime in the future!!!

Ummm......... I've delt with alot of Red Bloods and I can tell you from expierience that you will be hard pressed to find a tame Maylasian. I've even delt with F2 Malaysians that were as nasty as their Wild caught Grandparents. The Majority of Sumatrans will calm down to the point of being tame. Anyways, just my expieriences

Hard pressed? A number of people have "CALM" Malaysians, in this very form as well! Sorry to disappoint you but there is no such thing as a tame reptile as they are wild not domestic animals. Calling wild animals "tame" and treating them as such is the cause of many problems! For example with big cats or larger snakes. Let your guard down and things can become pretty ugly. Anyways A friend of mine also has a 6ft plus calm malaysian. He also has one that is psycho. I'd much rather have a psycho true malaysian over a sumatran any day! Just like calm niles (monitors) anything is possable. I could care less what makes a better "pet"!
