Male and female in ONE 20 gallon tank?

jj1k Jul 29, 2004 11:58 PM

Is it a good idea if I have plenty of hides?
Should I try and see what happens? Anyone else try?

I have a male and female in a 20 gallon. They seem pretty happy.

I think that is just fine. I would suggest three hides. (This can include the humid hide.)
Goood luck.

I don't think its a good idea to keep ONE male and ONE female in the same tank; as the male will stress the female. One male and several female in a larger tank will be fine though.

yea like gothra said the male will most likely stress the female out. i would know cuz thats what happened with my leos and my female stopped eating for a while.
