shedding baby

katieh Jul 30, 2004 12:19 AM

Ok i know im asking a lot of silly questions, but this is my first baby and I can't find the answers anywhere.

I came home to find it hiding under the paper towel I use for substrate. I pulled it out to find that it was starting to shed and some skin was hanging off. I coaxed it into the moist hide and it slept there for awhile, but now it's just sitting there not doing anything with a bunch of skin hanging off of it. I dont' think it's pulled any off. Its been this way for at least 6 hours.

Do babies usually take this long for their first shed? I'm afraid it doesn't know what to do but I'm reluctant to help it

Some babies do take some time when they shed and i wouldn't help remove any as they do eat there skin to regain some nutians, or so i've been told. Just leave him for awhile. I let mine have two days at it before i intervean and so far I haven't had to.
