Hi there. I am building a rack for my corn snakes this weekend, and I am trying to work out a way to deal with the problems I've heard of people having with the tubs rubbing on heat tape. I have a few sheets of formica-type laminate (just the laminate, not the backer board). Would it be safe and or/functional to cover the bottom of each shelf (over the belly heat) with something like this, or would it cause a fire hazard. I would also be open to any other suggestions.
