rock or driftwood

Is it better to have your beardie bask on a rock or on driftwood. Does one aid more in digestion? I would assume the rock does because it holds heat longer and warms the underbelly.

The only thing that makes me a little nervous about using a rock is I have always heard the rumor never to use a heat rock because reptiles can burn themselves on them. I wonder if a normal rock could have the same effect.

Also I have heard having a rock to climb on in the cage is beneficial because it naturally helps keep the nails shorter and smoother.

Thanks in advance!

Why limit your self to just one or the othe? I have both in my cages and like you mentioned, the rocks do tend to keep the heat more than branches (especially if they're dark in color). Yes, natural rocks can burn dragons if the light above them is too close or too high in wattage. It really depends on your cage setup which is most suitable if you have to choose just one.
