Housing Cham Yummies

I'd like to use one of those 3-drawer plastic Sterlite storage bins to house crickets, mealworms, ect. The ones where the drawers are stacked on top of one another. Would this provide enough ventilation? Should I cover the tops of the drawers with screen so they can't escape?

I have seen several people do it that way - dont recall seeing anything covered with screen. May be a good idea with the crix.

i am using one right now for eggs
ventilation shouldnt be a problem, but i would worry about escapes
i use a ten gallon for crickets with a plexi-glass lid with holes drilled in it, works great

I have my crix in a 5 gallon tank with screen lid. They cannot jump out (till I raise the toilet paper roll to dump it in a duster, then they can make it). But for the others I am trying to cultivate, I have plastic storage bins for shoes. The rack had lots of extra bins so now I am using them. I have some flies cucooned from 3 days ago and just put another batch of full grown maggots (I got from Grubco.com) into another bin. The first batch will be feasted on from birth, the second batch will be grown to larger size then feasted on. I was going to cultivate wax worms, but after talking on here and the damage they could do to local bee populations, I am going to hold off on that until I feel like trying again (many months from now).
