its a veiled chameleon about 6 inches from head to tail with white stuff forming around her nostrils. what can i do to treat that and is it harmful?
I have heard mixed explanations about that. Some say its excess salt and others say its excess calcium. Hopefully someone will chyme in on this. If its calcium, probably over supplementing.

I asked about this and it was explained as excess salt. It's how they get it out of their system since they don't sweat. Ever seen the Galapagos Iguanas shoot it out of their nose? Chams just don't have the mV (muzzle velocity).

And Iguanas are a chams closet relative - so that makes a bit of sense. Thanks for the info.

Both lizards right? But the galapagos iguana is an extreme example, the reason for it's high salt content is it's time spent in the ocean (salt water).
