This area is located roughly at the SE corner of George Bush (190) and the Dallas North Tollway. It is about 1500 or so acres of creeks, streams, woods and overgrown meadows.
I would think this would be good hunting?

Kerry, I am familiar with that area too. Just find some trash, carpet, tin, rocks, etc. We just had a good amount of rain , so it should be a good time to go. There is also some old rail road tracks on the north side of 190. If you see old rail road ties laying below the railway, lift them and see what you can find!Report back and let us know what you find.
Did you ever wonder where all the snakes were hanging out a couple of thousand years ago before us humans came along and junked it all up, thusly giving them tin, carpet and trash out in the woods to cool off under?? (ha ha)
I am gonna check that tho... I'll let you know what I find...
Thanks for the tip!

Yep, they were probably hanging out in every possible natural hideout that they could find. They probably would have utilized abandoned mammal burrows, holes in rotting/diseased trees, natural rocks/formations.I went out to a favorite spot today and caught a small 3 inches across the plastron Spiny softshell turtle. Also saw a small Woodhouses toad!
